Just as I was leaving New England, fall colors were beginning to hint at the rich hues to come in a few more weeks. I figured that would be the case everywhere. I didn’t anticipate the richness of color in Pennsylvania, greens were beginning to transform into ochres, bronzes and even crimsons and the higher hills were tinged with a soft golden glow.
Eastern Pennsylvania is quite hilly. I enjoyed driving a two lane road across that part of the state, up and down hills, through rustic villages and by meandering streams In a valley I came across this barn with a stone foundation. I loved the variety of texture and color.
