Downeast

I’ve had a lovely time exploring a small section of the Maine coast.  Yesterday a highlight was to visit the Olson house made famous in Andrew Wyeth’s painting, “Christina’s World.”  Although it was closed to the public, it was meaningful to simply look at it; and of course I took pictures.

This is a drawing of the town market, gas station, general store and restaurant in Friendship, Maine.  The sign said, “Any pumpkin, any size, $5.”  I love the simplicity of life Downeast.

I’ll pick up the blog and drawings again on my return across the country.  Thank you to all who have been following my journey, or even peeking in occasionally to see what I’m up to.  There will be more adventures in about ten days.  See you then.
